The first branch of C L Innes & Co to be established outside of Hamilton was in Taumarunui in 1908 at Morero Terrace. 5 years later they took over the premises previously occupied by A Hyde in Huia St. Harry Innes was the first manager, leaving in 1910 to open a new branch in Waihi. Later managers were Peter McKinnon and Alf Smith. (ABC November 1976)
